Penn Wall B.Ed PGDPT

I am Penn Wall – I qualified as a Play Therapist with Play Therapy UK (PTUK) and Leeds Beckett University. I am also trained in Filial Therapy and Counselling.

I feel passionately that the more we do to enable our children’s emotional wellbeing, the better their future lives will become. If we are mentally in a good space then we all function more effectively, at every level.

I am so excited about the work I am doing. I love working with the children and seeing the many benefits that Play Therapy provides, both at school & at home.

The more we know and understand, the more we see how important it is for all of us to look after our emotional and mental well-being. Our children are our future.

What is Play Therapy?

Play is a child’s natural medium of expression. It is vitally important for children’s social, emotional, cognitive, creative, spiritual, physical wellbeing and development. The purpose of Play Therapy is to help children by alleviating emotional, behavioural and mental health problems. A happy mind is a healthy mind which enables children to learn and function more effectively.

Play Therapy empowers children to cope with problems in their lives and to increase their self-esteem and confidence. It improves their emotional wellbeing and may be used to help and support a mild to moderate, emotional or psychological problem that is preventing the child from functioning normally.

Play Therapy gives children the emotional support they need to learn and understand about their thoughts & feelings and make sense about how to cope better with their future.

Play Therapy can be enjoyed on a one-to-one basis or in groups. I work with children, young people and adults using an Integrative Holistic approach. This allows the person to choose from the mediums in the room and through metaphor and play to explore the themes that are most pertinent to them.

Who can benefit from Play Therapy?
